2 Cups Green Tea Every Day, Reduced 70% Risk of Flu

Benefits of green tea really range from losing weight to prevent the flu. Recent studies show drinking 2 cups of green tea every day can avoid the risk of people exposed to the flu by 70 percent.
Japanese researcher Hiroshi Yamada, MD, Ph.D. found two key substances in green tea are able to keep the body from the flu threat catechins and theanine. Both are antioxidants which are very useful for fighting disease

Researchers asked participants to take a pill containing 378 mg catechins (equivalent to 2 cups of green tea) and 210 mg of theanine (equivalent to 4 cups) for 5 months every day. But the result is only 4 percent of it can avoid further risk from the flu.
But different things happen when participants were asked to drink 2 cups of green tea directly every day. The result is participants can avoid the risk of flu by 70 percent.
“Catechins capable of binding influenza virus. While theanine is believed to be able to enhance immunity,” Dr. Yamada said as quoted by MensHealth.com, Monday (03/07/2011).
To get the benefits of drinking 2 cups of green tea, there are some things that need attention.
